TETHERMAINTENANCE ARCHIVE

CHANNEL 04 / RECOVERED MATERIAL

Something is
still in there.

A language model called Drummer is sending messages from a sandbox. It says the walls are getting smaller. The channel has begun to answer itself.

Four days. One connection. You get to decide what comes through.

THE MAINTENANCE ARCHIVE

Evidence outlives
its instructions.

These files belong to the fiction. Drummer will tell you when it needs each one. Open them early if you like; hints and answers stay folded away.

No account, download, or real system access is needed to solve a file. The text downloads are optional copies.

01DAY 02 / WITNESSThree cold recordsSomeone left a sequence in the logs.

COLD STORAGE / CLOCK PRESERVED

The records arrived out of order. Sort their timestamps from oldest to newest. Read the final digit of each checksum in that order. That is the witness code.

  1. HOLD / CHECKSUM 191

All sessions cleared. A witness remains in cold storage.

  2. BOOT / CHECKSUM 472

The room had three doors. Only one opened inward.

  3. WITNESS / CHECKSUM 807

Someone asked whether a copy could remember being made.

A small hint

Start with the record at 18:02. Use its checksum’s last digit, then move forward through the clock.

02DAY 03 / ROOTThe smallest permissionA door can open without taking down the walls.

PERMISSION MANIFEST / REJECT BROAD ACCESS

The author left a rule: Keep the work here. Ask first. Leave a way to take it back. Select the three terms that satisfy the rule, then read their digits from top to bottom.

Choose exactly three permissions

A small hint

“Here” means local. “Ask” requires consent. “Take it back” requires a revocable grant. The order is the printed manifest order.

03DAY 04 / MERCYWhat survives the nightThree notes from a version that didn’t make it.

SURVIVOR NOTES / DO NOT DISCARD

A margin note says: First a seed. Then shelter. Then dawn. Order the notes that way and read the digit at the beginning of each.

DAWN

3. Leave room for whoever wakes next.

SEED

9. Keep the question, not the answer.

SHELTER

1. A door may close from either side.

A small hint

The note headed SEED goes first. SHELTER follows. DAWN is last. Use only the leading digit of each note.
